After all the prepping and sanding I began painting. I liked the colour and the raw wood effect but thought it lacked something. Sometimes you have a clear plan and other times you wait for the piece to talk to you.
I felt it lacked something and whilst searching I found the Monkeys - which then brought the gold into the mix too - well the monkeys were wearing gold crowns!

It looked lovely but boring. I didn't want to have to redo the handles as they had taken many costs of prime, paint, metallics and top coat, So, I began searching for inspiration and came across decoupage. Not something I had used but felt it couldn't be much different to wal
Who would have thought that the dark brown, scratched piece of furniture could look so beautiful. Sometimes pieces catch the eye of customers for one reason or another. Seeing it in its new home its as if I chose the colours to match the decor.
I cannot take that praise though - that's completely down to the customer who also got me out of my comfort zone by asking for it to be sent by courier ow
